What will the neighbors think?
Monday thus far has been a brilliant collection of the brightest stars in the Universe when compared to the remainder of this week.
As I reflect on Monday while approaching my 13th hour at work today; I remembered taking my daughter for a ride around the neighborhood. Being the safety minded individual that I am I have been working to teach my 5 year old how to communicate in traffic and have a safe and enjoyable ride. For the most part she does great with her hand signals when it comes time to turn. This Monday was different for some reason. As we rode I called out to her, “We’re turning right up ahead. What do you do?”
In past practice she would extend her right arm perfectly to indicate her intended direction of travel. For some unknown reason she was extend her right arm out in front of her body. My prompting for her to correct herself met with no acquiescence. She rode woodenly along, arm outstretched, head up and eyes front.
I hope my neighbors don’t think I’m raising a daughter for the Nazi youth brigade.
