Bonus! The first Camp Makearoo is now a three-day retreat at the same cost as the two-day event.
Over the past week I spoke to about two dozen creative people (thank you!), and I have a few more conversations scheduled (hooray!). These talks made me excited to launch the ‘What Lights You Up’ podcast this year; I could talk with you guys about this stuff all day, every day. These conversations also confirmed what I’ve long suspected: creative people share many traits regardless of where they are with their creative projects. This is excellent news: It proves that we’re not alone when we most worry that we are. It also got me really excited about offering practical and soulful solutions to the many issues we creatives face.
So why the new dates?
Most of you wished for more time when considering their ideal creative retreat. Many cited post-holiday cost considerations. I’ve heard from over a dozen people citing a conflict with my February date who were otherwise thrilled to attend. I gathered this and other information and spent the New Year contemplating switching the date. I should go into what a struggle it was to change the date, but the more I thought about it, the more it made sense. So I did my first exercise in trusting my gut for 2012 and changed the date. No struggle, just doing what feels right.
If you’ve had a project that you keep putting on the back burner for whatever reason, if you want to explore starting a creative business, if you have trouble trusting your gut or charging a fair rate for your work or carving out time to make stuff, or if you just want more from your creative work, this retreat is a perfect excuse to get started. We’ll have talks that enlighten as much as they entertain, activities and exercises that will offer clarity and inspiration, and plenty of opportunities to mingle with and gain support from fellow creatives and our featured speakers. It’s a tweetup where you get to focus on yourself, make cool stuff and don’t have to shout over loud music in a bar!
If you have questions, please get in touch. I’d be honored if you’d spread the word to your creative pals. Thanks.
