Watching my son run at full speed in non-concentric circles laughing and yelling at the top of his volume ability then stopping, going completely silent and shitting himself has to be the end all be all of parenting.

I can’t wait to share this story with his first girlfriend.

A Shadow Underneath

Lisa heard a whisper in her computer screen
And in the sad laser flicker of the Xerox machine
Out the tinted windows, a car sped silently
And everything was quiet, everything was clean
But she felt something waiting, a shadow underneath
Ohh, a shadow underneath

Another cup of coffee, snacks from the machine
She stared down the hallway at the plastic trees
Waving under air ducts in the automated breeze
A whisper, a flicker, trembling in the leaves
And she wanted to see it, but she didn’t want to see
Ohh, she didn’t want to see

Down the elevator, falling silently
In the parking lot, silver puddles cling
A canyon of buildings, lazy pipes of steam
And all of it whispered, all of it breathed
And all the little shadows danced around her feet
Ohh, they danced around her feet

And she wanted so see them, but she didn’t want to see
Ohh, she didn’t want to see
Ohh

The phone.

My mother calls my wife and talks to her rather than me. This could be because I’m a terrible son or because I just don’t like to talk on the phone. I hope that only one of those is true.

My mother had called to ask if we knew about my friend being brought in to the circle of fatherhood today AND the let us know that their power went out.

While the power going out is not that interesting the fact that it was because of a downed power line makes it marginally more interesting AND to throw on a big pile of SUCK the downed line electrocuted and killed one of the horses.

Thoughts while running.

While at the gym on the treadmill or elliptical my mind is a lean mean thinking machine. I have a thousand thoughts and all of them are pure brilliance. I take a notepad with me so that I may record my genius. By the end of my workout I’m usually so damn tired and don’t.

My brain is frakking fried. I can’t even remember what my damn point of this post was.

Time to shower and go coma for the 4-5 hours before I do this all again.

Remind me again

Why I think it’s okay to go to bed at 11:00pm when I wake up at 3:00am?

dash

I’m sure that you all were totally awesome today and posted some of the most meaningful and poignant posts ever.

I managed to gain a new follower today. Number 96 which is my favorite position when sleeping with a stranger in a tent.

The dash is loading like crap today. I have resigned myself to seeing little to nothing of the goings on of the day.
